In anticipation of the September 24 release of the Diana original cast recording, Universal Music Enterprises has posted the album’s first official video, “The World Fell in Love.” Co-produced by composer David Bryan and music supervisor Ian Eisendrath, the album was recorded during this past year’s pandemic shutdown. The Brosadway production was in previews at the Longacre Theatre when New York’s theaters shut down last year. The cast reassembled to film the production on stage late last year, which will premiere October 1 on Netflix, and the show returns to Broadway on November 2, with an opening date of November 17.
Diana tells the story of Princess Diana, with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music and lyrics by David Bryan. The remaining creative team includes Christopher Ashley (direction), Kelly Devine (choreo), Ian Eisendrath (music direction), David Zinn (sets), William Ivey Long (costumes), Natasha Katz (lights), and Gareth Owen (sound). The cast includes Jeanna de Waal (Princess Diana), Roe Hartrampf (Prince Charles), Erin Davie (Camilla Parker Bowles), and Judy Kaye (Queen Elizabeth).
